Rick Birdsall ("Ranger")

1

I'm Rick Birdsall (sometimes known as Ranger). Elk River has been home to my wife, Vickie, and I for 34 years. We raised 4 sons and had a "dream parenthood." The RV Business is very time demanding but every free moment I had was turned into quality time with my family.

I've been in the RV Business ever since returning from Viet Nam in 1968. Mom and Dad started Voyageur Sales in 1967 and when my brother Darrell and I returned from Nam we joined them. Brother Don joined us when he graduated from High School. The high interest rates of 1982 forced us to close our "Family RV Business." I worked for a couple of RV Dealers before joining Quality RV in 1992.

I love what I do and do what I love! I don't believe in "High Pressure" sales. I'm from the "Old School" where I believe "It's best to do unto others as you'd have them do unto you!" Quality RV affords me that opportunity. We strive for a relaxed, informative, pleasant and rewarding RV shopping experience.

For lots of you, this RV purchase will be second in dollar amount only to your home. I don't take that lightly. I'm responsible for the success of your RV purchase. I'll do the very best I can to help you fill your needs and desires.

Ranger Notes

1958 Chev

My Dad and Mom began taking my Brothers and I camping way back in 1958. First, it was a 1958 Chev station wagon with a tent, then a home made hard side fold up trailer then a home made 16' travel trailer. Dad started building trailers and truck campers for resale in 1966.

Yellowstone 1971

In July of 1971, Vickie and I honeymooned in Yellowstone Park. We camped in a truck camper. The bears were everywhere back then and the Park was Awsome! I wish we could have gone back there every year. It's a shame that most of us are so busy making a living that we don't take time to make a life.

Treasure Chest

Campfires and Family togetherness are the best of times. Vickie and I and our Sons, Bob, Derek, Trevor and Blake have a Treasure Chest overflowing with memories made while camping in a RV. We feel that "Camping if fun for everyone."

Beartooth Pass

Beartooth Pass straddles the Montana/Wyoming Border at 10,000 feet. The Alpine Lakes are full of hungry trout. Elk, Mule Deer and Mountain Goats abound and Rocky Mountain Marmots are everywhere. The air is clean and fresh and when the "Shades of night draw closed" it is really dark. The stars seem close enough to touch and they are the brightest stars you will ever see.

Black Hills

Vickie and I and the Boys have made several trips to the Black Hills. We love Medora, North Dakota, Teddy Roosevelt National Park, the Badlands and the picturesque Black Hills. Spearfish Canyon is beautiful and you won't want to miss Mount Rushmore.

Father Hennepin

We really enjoy camping at Father Hennepin State Park on the Shore of Mille Lacs Lake. It is a nice, clean, quiet campground on the shore of one of Minnesota's best Walleye lakes. We have stayed in tents, trailers, 5th wheels and motorhomes. No matter the RV, it is the Family Togetherness that makes camping so special.

Canadian Fishing

We've made many Canadian Fishing trips in RV's. We always have a terrific time. You can stop when and where you want to. Camping, Fishing, hiking or whatever you like to do - The RV offers you many opportunities that other forms of travel do not.

Deer Hunting

Over the years we have spent many Deer Hunting openers in a RV. Dad built a 16' travel trailer in 1963 and 6 of us spent several nights in that little unit. We parked it under a giant pine tree west of Effie, Minnesota and had a blast!

Dream Parenthood

All four of our Sons, say many of their fondest memories were made while camping with Mom and Dad. Vickie and I had a "Dream Parenthood" and we feel our "Family Bond" was strengthened by those camping experiences.

All Over Again

For anyone looking to fall in love all over again, the Camping Experience may well lead you down that path. After 37 years of marriage, Vickie and I are more excited than ever, when we can spend a few days together with "Mother Nature."
